Global trends in development of contemporary educational process are allocated in the article. Global challenges for engineering education are systematized. The main problems in engineering education are defined. The concept of training engineering staff in the sphere of chemical technology at a research technological university is developed. Priorities in the university development, its innovative structure and implemented programs of interaction with partners are presented.
