This paper deals with the tuning of power system stabilizers (PSS) for a multimachine system by the sequential application of the integral of squared error technique. Investigations reveal that the dynamic performance of a system with a sequentially tuned PSS is superior to that obtained considering a simultaneously optimized PSS
