Superconductivity and structure of C60 doped with alkali and other metals

Doping alkali and other metals into C₆₀ has been found to bring about superconducting states with various T_Cs up to 33 K for RbCs₂C₆₀) In addition, we report observation of superconductivity with T_C ~ 29 K in C₆₀ doped with pure Cs metal). The latter having a small superconducting volume fraction, was found to disappear by extended annealing. In the present work, we achieved a substantial improvement in the superconducting volume fraction by doping of alkali metals through the thermal decomposition of alkali azides. A systematic study on the superconductivity and structure of C₆₀ doped with alkali (Na, K, Rb, Cs) and other metals, for different combination and compositions.
