Abstract
The paper introduces the basic principle of thermography and describes the structure of an infrared imaging system. The possible applications of thermography in energy auditing and recognising the usage patterns of electric power of buildings in Hong Kong are highlighted. The details of evaluating the indoor temperature by thermography are described. The merits of such information to the planning and operation of the electric power system are discussed
