The European Wave Energy Symposium Edinburgh, July 1993

The 1973 energy crisis raised interest in wave energy in many countries with suitable wave conditions. In 1992 the European Community provided its first support for wave energy with a programmed of preliminary actions. The Edinburgh Conference was held to report results and to welcome wave energy enthusiasts from outside Europe. Delegates from 20 countries attended. The author presents some personally selected highlights of the conference held at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh from 21-24 July 1993
