Abstract :
Summary form only given. The spectroscopic properties of poly(1,4-phenylenevinylene) and poly(2-methoxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene) in thin film were investigated with absorption, photoluminescence, and photoluminescence excitation, photo-induced absorption spectroscopy. The excited state dynamics were also measured using time-resolved photoluminescence and pump-probe techniques. From the measured photophysical properties and dynamical processes, an energy level diagram for PPV and PMPV was introduced to explain those observations.
