Abstract :
An overview of central control systems is provided for cement plant management personnel who are or will be in a position to upgrade or replace their controls. The author attempts to show that controls and control systems have an increasingly important role in contributing to the successful operation of a plant, and that it is not difficult to understand the common control system configurations. He discusses some of the important factors to be used in weighing the many options available in control systems, and he emphasizes the need for planning the control requirements for both short-term and long-term goals
