  • Abstract
Iteration Function System (IFS) is one of the important methods for simulating three-dimensions of trees, but this method cannot simulate the process of tree growth. The relationship between crown-shape index and graphics was discussed in the paper through establishing a crown-shaped curve with the power function. In the crown-shaped curve, the relationship between trees crown-shaped curve and growth model was analyzed with the growth model data, and applied to control the IFS fractal. Then the IFS was controlled by the growth model and tree crown curve. Thus it provided an effective fractal method to simulate tree growth process.
