Abstract :
A WLS (superconducting wavelength shifter) is now in operation in the BESSY-1 storage ring. A 6 T WLS will have a quite annoying effects on linear optics and nonlinear/chromatic beam behavior, inducing beta function beatings and depressing the dynamic aperture, especially for off-energy or off-x-axis particles. A compensation scheme with four additional independent quadrupole power supplies is hence proposed
