Abstract :
The antenna pointing accuracy of GEO satellites has quite a few effects on communication quality, while pointing accuracy is mainly affected by satellite orbit and attitude. This paper discusses the effect caused by satellite orbit. First, the allocation strategy of the GEO satellite control box was demonstrated in longitudinal and latitudinal position keeping respectively, and then the effect matrix on antenna pointing accuracy was derived through a series of coordinate transformations. Based on in-orbit test data, a quadratic antenna pattern of GEO satellites was modeled and the attenuation of satellite receive-antenna-gain was simulated for one control cycle. Consequently, the conclusion was derived that the gain loss varies with orbital elements, especially the inclination, but the effect is limited. This conclusion is instructive for the GEO satellite management.
