Abstract :
The development of an array made out of sequentially rotated is-shaped suspended microstrip antennas is reported in this paper. It was demonstrated by simulation that, through a careful choice of the array elements and the feeder network, it is possible to attain operation over a wide axial ratio bandwidth in the boresight region. A concept prototype was manufactured and experiments were carried out for the axial ratio and reflection coefficient magnitude parameters. Very good agreement between experiments and simulated results were obtained, thus validating the proposed approach.
