Abstract
The localization of nonlinear waves propagating in an anharmonic medium along an infinite array of identical plane-parallel defect layers (optical waveguides) is investigated. An effective analytical method of solving this problem is proposed in the limit of weak coupling of the waveguides. It is shown that the effective interaction of defect layers (waveguides) depends on wave parameters. "Superlocalization" (formation of a "supersoliton") of the wave flux in periodic layered or waveguide structures perpendicular to the direction of its propagation is theoretically described.
