Abstract
This paper investigates the coexistence among UWB power controlled systems, classified as secondary services, and narrowband radiosystems. Fixed wireless access (FWA), point- to-point (PP) and fixed satellite service (FSS), embedded in a square sprawl of randomly distributed UWB devices are considered. This coexistence study accounts for various parameters such as the effect of different outdoor radio propagation models, UWB modulation techniques, UWB densities, radiation pattern and the steering of victim antennas. We calculate the mean UWB interference level received by the victim receiver and then we compare it with the maximum allowed one obtained in accordance with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) guidelines (ITU-R F.1094, ITU-R S.1432).
