Smart card technology integration in a higher education institution

The application of smart card technology in many industries locally and abroad is common nowadays. The technology is used in ensuring security and attaining functional capabilities. Based on an Internet search, there appears to be several reported cases of successful smart card technology implementation projects. However, there may not be as many challenged projects reported. In this paper, we report a challenged implementation of smart card technology in a higher education institution using the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) as the framework.
