Abstract :
The capacity of the forward link in multiservice DS-CDMA systems is analyzed. Capacity constraints are derived with respect to the number of users in each service class. Shadowing, hard/soft handoffs, and data rate variations are considered in the analysis. Solutions of the capacity constraints are used to compare the forward link capacity with hard and soft handoffs. The accuracy of the solutions is verified by simulations
