Abstract :
New topology, control scheme, and modeling technique are proposed in order to achieve the ultra-fast transient response required in 48 V/1 V voltage regulator module (VRM). The linear sampled data theory is employed to extract an accurate dynamic model. The advantages of the proposed controller are highlighted through a detailed comparison with the conventional current mode controller. Analytical and simulation results are carried out for a 100 W converter in order to prove the validity of the derived model as well as the dynamic performance.
