Abstract :
In the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM), the standard algorithm that estimates the instantaneous rain profiles from the Precipitation Radar (PR) data has been revised several times since its launch in 1997. This paper describes the major changes in different versions of the algorithm and the reasons for the revisions.
