Abstract :
An evolutionary procedure for the optimal design of adaptive wavelet filters based on lifting scheme is proposed. In particular, among state-of-the-art evolutionary techniques, cultural algorithms are exploited for their improved accuracy and efficiency. Numerical results of (i) a comprehensive characterization of the proposed procedure based on statistical experiment design, and (ii) validation based on the comparison with state-of-the-art filters are presented, by referring to an application of impedance spectra filtering
