Abstract :
Biomeasurements are an important field of present-day metrology, and there is special interest in the application of the still developing methods of optical and optoelectronic measuring. This paper covers the new practical application of advanced methods for uncertainty estimation in very complex measurements made with pulse oximetry. Pulse oximetry is one marvelous example of a new generation of optically based diagnostic methods which allows noninvasive monitoring of arterial blood oxygen saturation. A representative series of comparative measurements based on this method has been selected to describe in detail and summarize the results with analytical and graphical illustration.
