Abstract
Most commercially available tools for supporting configuration management are limited to managing versions of the software itself. There are hardly any automated tools to support the process of managing software changes. General requirements for an automated tool to manage the change process are presented and discussed. A prototype tool that implements a large subset of these requirements is described and practical experience gained from using the tools is presented
