Abstract :
A fully integrated electrical mode-locked oscillator is presented. The oscillator, which produces a periodic train of narrow pulses, is comprised of an on-chip transmission line and a lumped amplifier. The oscillator is fabricated in 0.13 ¿m SiGe BiCMOS and produces pulses with 42 ps pulse widths at a repetition rate of 8.6 GHz.
