            Abstract : 
The phenomenon of high optical transmission through periodic structure on base of metallic diffraction grating was provided for TE polarization. It is shown that resonant transmission occurs only as a result of waveguide effect. There is certain a slit width where possible waveguide effect and consequently high transmission.
