Abstract :
This paper proposes and analyses an architecture providing IP quality of service in integrated terrestrial-satellite networks. The IP Integrated Services framework is used to reserve resources on the satellite path and is combined with Differentiated Services in the terrestrial core network. A seamless integration is achieved by means of a gateway station that acts as interworking unit between terrestrial and satellite segments. The main focus is on the best mapping of integrated service traffic classes over satellite bearer connections
