Equivalent Material Model is used to simulate the strata and ground surface movement which is caused by coal resources extraction from underground. This paper analyses the research status of deformation monitoring on equivalent material model, proposes a solution of monitoring the model. In the paper, photographic surveying of industry is use to monitor the movements of the target points which are set on the model. For the high accuracy of photographic surveying of industry method which can meet the need of monitoring imperceptibility movements of target points. At the same time, the structure lighting scanning devices are used to scan the model surface. After each scanning, points clouds of the model surface are obtained, and a method of extracting the cracks information on the model surface from points cloud is put forward.
