Abstract
A methodology is described for the design of radial keratotomy procedures with elliptical optic zones. By coupling a transversely isotropic finite-element model of the cornea to an optical model of the eye and applying optimization techniques, an approach is developed that allows the correction of a patient´s myopia and astigmatism. An example, based on measured corneal geometry, illustrates the method for an eight-incision procedure
