The present short communication is dedicated to the life history of an outstanding researcher, Academician M. Ye. Ilchenko. A special emphasis is placed upon the essential milestones of his different activities involving his genuine devotion to science, his deep commitment to editorial and publishing businesses, social work as well as his production ties and creative contacts with many scientists and related professionals of Sevastopol. The examination of his publications is based upon the elements of bibliometric analysis.
