Abstract :
There is a continuous demand on improving detection of different gas mixture in the food processing industry, medicine and military applications by using inexpensive measurement equipment. The newly proposed method can increase sensibility and selectivity of gas detection in Taguchi gas sensors by observing resistance noise of gas sensors instead of their DC resistance only. The observed fluctuations give more information than a single DC resistance value and therefore lead to a reduction of the number of gas sensors necessary for detection of different gas mixtures. In this paper the prepared measurement setup for gas detection by analyzing gas sensors resistance noise is presented in detail. The system is based on low-noise voltage preamplifiers and a set of two gas chambers. The parameters of the prepared system are presented with the preliminary results of the selected gas detection
