  • Abstract
    We propose a new scheme for cooperative node selection method based on Cournot game to assist user equipment (UE) in fading area of Satellite-Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (S-UMTS) in maintaining communicating. Cournot game is applied to balance the cost of each player depended on others to earn most profit of his own. In this paper, source node and its partner are the players through adjusting transmit power at an equilibrium point to achieve maximum gain. Diversity of the partner and how much transmit power it can be supplied should be considered by game rules during selection. Cournot game is also an appropriate energy saving model which decreases the battery consumption of terminal. Formula derivation gives a feasibility analysis on theory. In addition the simulation results verify the validity of our analysis and demonstrate efficiency of the proposed scheme.
