Abstract
Electric resistance of plant takes different values with different degree of water saturation inside plant. According to this principle, some experiments on corn are tried thereby the relationship between plant resistance and required water in plant is obtained. A conclusion is reached that corn need to be irrigated when the physiological electric resistance is less than 40KW, while the resistance value between 40KW and 50KW implies plant water saturation is acceptable. Two types of device are developed for detecting the information of plant required water, one of which is portable style based on single chip microcomputer and another is pocket style with more simple structure. After lots of repeated experiments in different areas, the studied method is verified practicable. The devices can be used for quickly and accurately detecting the information of required water by plant, so that a new effective method and equipment for water saving irrigation is implemented.
