Abstract
The Ms 6.0 earthquake of 25 September 2008 occurred in Zhongba Country, China´s south-western Tibet province. In the paper, using data from the National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), we have investigated surface latent heat flux, humidity and water vapor changes before the 25 September 2008 Zhongba earthquake. The result shows that the maximum values of SLHF and the minimum values of relative humidity and water vapor appeared near the epicenter simultaneously on Sept. 6. Although the mechanism of these anomalies is not clear, we consider water and heat exchange in the earth-atmosphere system pre-earthquake may play an important role.
