Abstract :
Aimed to the character of application on huge bridge cranes and the problem that normal VSD (Variable Speed Drive) performs, the paper analyses the principle, the composition and the control characters of AFE (Active Front End) rectifier. The result of the simulation demonstrates that AFE technology improve the performance of VSD. Multi-inverter system based on AFE applied on huge bridge cranes can enhance the operation efficiency and save power energy, which has a practical significance and is worthy to be widely applied.
