Abstract :
Annotation - Modeling of downconverter with the RF input of 63.8 GHz and its components was conducted, including 63.8GHz subharmonically pumped (SHP) diode mixer and 5.8GHz F-class power amplifier (PA) based on metamaterials with gain equal 11.8 dB. This downconverter is a dual down-conversion system. The intermediate frequencies equal 5.8GHz and 70 MHz correspondingly. The proposed mixer utilizes a pair of anti-parallel diodes to achieve a subharmonic mixing mechanism and is composed of a coplanar diplexer, LO coplanar filter, RF band-pass filter (BPF) and intermediate frequency (IF) low-pass filter (LPF). The diplexer is used to improve the isolation between the radio frequency (RF) and local oscillation (LO) ports. The IF LPF filter supports an IF that equals 5.8 GHz. The conversion loss at LO power level of 10 dBm constitutes -21.09 dB, the LO-to-RF and RF-to-IF isolation are -12 and - 21 dB, respectively.
