  • Abstract
    In this paper, a multi-rate turbo coder was designed. The coder adopts multiple generators and can cover a wide range of code-rate, while the complexity of the system was not increased substantially. Based on Alamouti space-time block code (STBC) and OFDM, a robust broadband wireless image transmission scheme was proposed. With multi-rate turbo coder technology, unequal error protecting (UEP) of the SPIHT (set partitioning in hierarchical trees) bitstream and joint source-channel coding (JSCC) techniques, this scheme can effectively resist the fading impact of the broadband Rayleigh fading channel. This scheme can also improve visual quality of reconstructed images.
