Abstract :
Full polarimetric L-band ALOS PALSAR and C-band RADARSAT-2 datasets observing paddy rice field, JAPAN were analyzed by polarimetric decomposition method. From the analysis results by three component decomposition method, remarkable seasonal change is observed by double bounce scattering component ratio on ALOS PALSAR data. RADARSAT-2 data show more than 50% of volume scattering component and it increases with rice growth. Double bounce scattering component reached to 30 40% on PALSAR data, as of August, while it was less than 20% on RADARSAT-2 data. The difference of penetration depth on vegetation area between L-band and C-band may be cause of the difference of the scattering mechanism.
