Abstract :
In this paper, two CPW-fed implantable broadband ceramic antennas without superstrate have been designed and experimented in the lossy phantom tissue fluid. Due to high dielectric constant and quality factor of the ceramic substrates, ANMg and ANA1 antennas exhibit miniaturization (288 mm ), lower return loss (-16 dB for ANMg and -24 dB for ANA1), better -10 dB bandwidth (33.5 % for ANMg and 41.5 % for ANA1), gain (-21 dB for ANMg and -19 dB for ANA1), and CPW-fed structure. Therefore, the proposed antennas are suitable for the implanted medical telemetry applications.
