Correction of errors in the images read with a sheet-feed type scanner

Abstract :
A method is proposed for correction of false colour in scanned images. The false colours were detected by inspecting the permutation of R, G and B edges in the high contrast portions in the image. The corrections were performed by replacing the portions with false colour by the intensity profile, which is the piece wise linear fitting to the profile of the portion to be corrected. The results show that the present method is effective both to the monochrome and colour images, but the corrections are "under correction".
