Abstract :
In most parts of the world the cellular mobile terminal market is dominated by GSM/EDGE standards. However, a key enabler for the popular smart phones, netbooks and other mobile devices is the high data rate provided by 3G standards as WCDMA/HSPA. Another evolving standard based on GSM/EDGE is Evolved EDGE (E-EDGE), aiming to quintuple the peak data rate of EDGE. The first three papers in this session will address CMOS transceiver solutions for these standards.
