Abstract :
The capacity of code-division multiple-access (CDMA) networks is an important issue, especially when CDMA is used for broadband wireless networks to support high speed data traffic. In this paper, based on a CDMA cell model developed in our prior work, we develop accurate and easily calculable estimations for the capacity of CDMA over large scale fading channels. We show that user bandwidth demand, transmission power and outage requirements have significant impact on network capacity. The above factors can be traded-off with each other, which is also demonstrated by our numerical results
