Abstract
This paper has presented a preliminary analysis of the performance of synthetic aperture interferometric radiometers for three different antenna array configurations. It has been shown that the radiometer performance, intended as the product of sensitivity and spatial resolution, improves with the baseline redundancy and its distribution over the (u,v) plane. The aspects related to the feasibility of the actual practical realization of the instruments are currently under investigation by the authors.
