  • Abstract
    We fabricated a 1 times 8 optical switch using tunable phase shifters in Si-waveguides with ferroelectric liquid crystal cladding. The tunable phase shifters were 340 mum long. A switching operation was demonstrated at a 1550-nm wavelength.
