Abstract :
The development of urban waterfront district has become a hot topic in China. The ecological environment is quite sensitive and the local terrain is relatively complex, in particularly in large waterfront area. It is very important to collect and analyze the detail data and information in its landscape planning. And a proposed controlling frame work should be built based on local zoning and developing strategies. By using ArcGIS, quantitive analysis was used in the landscape planning of waterfront district of GuYang Lake, such as efficiency of land use, analysis of orientation, terrain and slop. This paper introduces a case study of landscape planning in Guyang Lak by taking advantage of GIS technology. This study proved thus highly integrated GIS system is very effective platform in process of data acquisition and analysis.
