Abstract
This paper innovatively proposes a solution for spectrum monitoring by building a green radio-over-fiber (RoF) distributed antenna system (DAS) based wireless sensor network (WSN) according to the actual monitoring demands. It is shown that the proposed hierarchical monitoring network architecture is appropriate for actual monitoring and the quantified results from the power consumption model provide basis for selecting a suitable RoF DAS based WSN before actual deployment.
