Abstract
This paper depicts a personal digital rights management (DRM) system that implements the equal pay load length encryption (EPLE) mechanism for network backup of personal digital audiovisual contents in the hard disk drive (HDD) of a digital video recorder (DVR) or video disc recorder (VDR). Its main functionality consists of content keys generation, content encryption, content network backup, content retrieval, content decryption, and content playback.
