  • Abstract
The pressure-flow relationship at the root of the aorta has been extensively studied by making use of parametric descriptions. The continuous-time models involved generally require complex and time-consuming procedures for parameter estimation. An estimation algorithm that overcomes these disadvantages and can be implemented on microcomputers is proposed. The accuracy and computational efficiency of the algorithm, tested by model-to-model and experiment-to-model approaches, proved to be fully satisfactory
