Abstract
Providing flexible and cost efficient performance, Modular Instruments are an attractive solution for many measurement system designers. In addition, small form factors and energy efficient designs mean a wide array of functionality is achievable in a fraction of the space required by traditional instrument solutions. However, the total cost of ownership of a test solution extends beyond the outlay for the original hardware. The paper explores the ongoing calibration and maintenance considerations of Modular Instrument measurement systems.
