Abstract :
A micro alignment machine has been developed for multiple coupling between optical fibers and optical devices. The fiber is actuated two-dimensionally by electrostatic force, and optimal positioning is achieved by measuring the signal intensity through the coupling. Fiber actuation is demonstrated. It is shown that this machine can align the optical axes of single-mode fibers
