Abstract :
This paper proposes the method to improve radiation pattern of radial line slot array (RLSA) antenna for applying to the wireless LAN indoor use operating at 5.5 GHz. The RLSA antenna is known for its qualities such as low profile, low cost, aesthetically pleasing, ease of installation and simpler in structure. The potential of this type of antenna to produce a broad beamwidth radiation pattern for at least 60 degrees for indoor application is investigated. The theoretical radiation patterns for different number of slot elements are illustrated as the guidelines for the design.
