Abstract :
This project describes the construction and application of an 8255-based network interface card (NIC). With the integration of an interface card, software routines, and electronics components, a powerful interfacing and data communication tool can be developed. The 8255 based interface card is a digital input/output device used to interface a personal computer with devices external to the computer. The interface card extends a personal computer´s capabilities. The interface card allows control and monitoring functions through software developed by the user
