Little information is available on how to apply different AC adjustable speed drive (ASD) configurations and the best options for specific applications. Special attention is given to the advantages and disadvantages of different configurations. Application rules for the different types of ASDs are included. Specific features of each ASD type are discussed. Some general guidelines are given
