  • Abstract
Pervasive computing environments are far more dynamic and heterogeneous than enterprise environments. Infrastructures holding adaptive ability could adjust themselves in order to perform perfectly and adapt themselves to dynamic environments. In the paper, an adaptive concept model of infrastructure is used in order to direct the implement of adaptive infrastructure in further. Three adaptive function layers, adaptive collaboration, adaptive middleware, adaptive services, are introduced in the model. Adaptive collaborative support layer provides service cooperation platform in dynamic environment. Adaptive middleware can customize themselves on the fly, and then provide an optimized uniform high-level interface for implementation of distributed applications where environment changes rapidly. Adaptive services designed for specific domain or applications are implemented in adaptive service layer. In adaptive services layer, two representative adaptive services, adaptive contents service and adaptive user interfaces, been seen important in pervasive computing.
